Riley's Farm Reflection:
At Riley’s Farm, we got to learn a lot about the past lifes. There were so many different kinds of stations that we went to. There was a weaving station. In that weaving station, we all got to learn how to weave with an old fashioned weaver! It was so cool. First, you take a divider, and weave it in or out. Then, you take some type of yarn wrapped around a stick, and put it straight through. Then, you take the divider, and push it down, so there is not any holes in the fabric that you make.
At the next station, we all got to do different things, such as make biscuits, churn butter, make flour, and write with a quill! The butter churning was really cool, because we really made butter! But, all there was only creme in it, right then. The biscuit making was cool to. We all got to take bits of the dough, and roll it into a ball, then put it on a tray. I wasn’t able to do the flour, or write my initials with a quill, but i got to see other people do it, and it looked awesome and fun!
The third station was interesting. We all got to learn about manners. We already about please and thank you, but we learned more. When you say hello to somebody, a boy bows down. If its a girl, then they curtsy. I thought it was cool to learn that.
At the fourth station, we did this little play thing. The guy called up 6 people in all, 3 girls and 3 boys. He called up Lola, Kyarah, Fatima, Sam, Estevan, and Alex A. They all did a great job acting out everything. The little play was about a guy ( I don’t remember his name) who took away there shillings. I thought Rileys Farm was a really cool place!
